The making,
in five movements.

Five stages of a production, five seams between them. Each seam performs the stage it introduces. The material is real: Episode 01, pencil to premiere. The choreography is the work.

Character design
and background

Chank Rivet started as pencil. The strip above runs the whole record: sketches, AI passes, the turnaround that became canon. Two spec sheets name his colors and his rust so every tool renders the same robot. The bedtime plate is the proof: the character holding steady inside a finished scene.

The writing comes first. Four panels, a hook, a misreading, and the Turn, where bafflement lands on something true. The script page is the contract for everything that follows: the lines, the shot notes, the beats marked cuttable. These frames from Episode 02 began as sentences on this page.

Iteration is where the directing happens. Each beat runs as a roll of takes, most of them wrong in useful ways: an eyeline, a silhouette, a gesture pushed too far. Twelve expressions and nine camera studies sit underneath as vocabulary, options before opinions. One toy store frame is the keeper. Knowing why is the job.

Assembly cut

The cut is where the pieces admit they belong together. Dozens of generated clips, green-screen pulls, voice tracks, one timeline. Composites get built the same way the frames were: written instructions, checked results. Three beats from the sequence run along the bottom: setup, cutaway, payoff. Strip timing, learned from the comics page.

Eighty-five seconds, start to finish. Every frame in Episode 01 passed through the four rooms behind it: designed, written, iterated, cut. This is the part the audience sees, and the only part they should have to think about. Episodes 02 and 03 are on the wall beside it. The process is already running.

Final show

The house dark holds in both themes. A screen is a screen at night.
